How To Host Tea Party Discussions In Your Home

Some time ago, my girls and I hosted our first Tea Party Discussion. We invited a few friends and neighbors to our home, and kept the preparation simple.

Tea Party

The girls decorated the tables with fresh flowers and handmade place cards, which added a personalized touch to the room. They dressed up as princesses and sat with the girls their age at their own fancy table on the backyard patio. The women gathered indoors around the dining room table. There, we enjoyed friendly conversation, refreshing fruit-infused water, herbal tea, in addition to cucumber sandwiches, fresh fruit and veggies, and cookies. It was the perfect springtime gathering!

Discussion Details

Our conversation turned to a discussion of the following questions:

What is a favorite Bible scripture or story that has had a positive effect on your life?

How can we, as women, do a better job loving one another so that the world would know us as disciples?

How do you personally live at a pace that allows yourself to be available for others?

What are some of the long-term goals or traits that you would love to cultivate this year?

Through the sharing of heartfelt thoughts and feelings, old friendships were strengthened, new friendships were forged, and we each left feeling inspired to be better women.

Children’s Tea Party Discussion

The girls led their own Bible discussion on the back patio while enjoying their tea party food and were just as inspired by their discussion as we
women were with ours. I knew the girls’ tea party discussion with their friends had been a success when they came to me after the party and said,

“That was so much fun, Mom! Can we do it again next year?”

don’t miss a thing!
